the future of the republican party...

As we all know, the republicans took a humiliating defeat in every way, shape and form this election season. The only questions is: who is next for the republican party?... and please don't say Sarah Palin. A combination that has a chance of taking Obama/Biden in 2012 would probably the Romney/Jindal Ticket for the republicans. Romney who ran for president in 2008 and is the former governor of Massachusetts and was the CEO of the 2002 Utah Olympics, his executive experience definitely brings something to the table. Jindal who is only 37 years old on the other hand is the Governor of Louisianan and former congressman as well. Jindal is a new face in the republican party and he will probably lead the way for them for the future, and although he doesn't have them most experience out of any other candidate -
i hate to say it but.. he is smart... very smart.

So.. lets look at this again shall we?

Mitt Romney:

Pros:
  1. Experience as a governor
  2. He knows his way around the private sector and the economic world
  3. Was a candidate in the last election so he is already familiar with most people
Cons:
  1. His Mormon faith might not be attractive to the more progressive republicans
  2. cant relate to the average Joe.
Bobby Jindal:

Pros:
  1. New, fresh face in the republican party
  2. Experience as a Governor and Congressman
  3. He is probably the smartest Republican i have yet to see
Cons:
  1. His south Indian heritage might be a red light for the racist republicans
  2. He might need more than 4 years to get ready for an election.

My experience is that the Republicans are not racist.

And Jindal got elected from one of the most racist regions of the country.

BTW We will be in a world war by the time the next election rolls around.

There will be a military man or woman at the top of the ticket.

Palin may again be the VP choice. She is very popular and one of the most libertarian of the candidates on the national scene.

If Palin is the future of the party, the party is pretty much toast:

It's the conservative Republicans who don't like Romney's religion. They're probably still circulating the old anti-Mormon movies they were showing a few years ago, although Muslims have attained top billing. What passes for progressive in Republican circles (the "I still have to pay taxes; cut them some more" business types) love Romney.
